The Regal Flipper butterfly knife has solid, smooth action. It features bolstered steel frame handles with blue swirl acrylic inserts and a pocket clip. The 440 stainless steel clip point blade has two tang pins, which results in tighter lock-up and less blade wear. The knife is constructed with Torx screws for easy adjustment of the knife.
Please Note: As with all butterfly knives, please be sure to maintain and tighten the screws, especially the pivot screws. We recommend using a threadlocker (Click HERE!) for best results. Adjust with care, we do not warrant stripped screws!
Customer Reviews
The latch is a joke, just flops around - and the screws that hold on the pocket clip stripped while trying to remove the clip.
I'm just going to keep it open and use it as a letter opener.
Recommendation: while the free shipping was generous, personally would not buy again, would rather have put the 25$ towards a nicer knife
Cons:
Screws started to fall out after about a week. Screws at the pivot were too tight on one side, made it difficult to do any kind of flipping. A little WD-40 helped, but did not resolve my problem. Most of the screws were stripped as well, making adjustments a major pain. Cheap metal (china 440 stainless steel), if you flex the handle too hard as well it's prone to bend. Velcro on the sheathe was weak and did not stick very well, sheathe in general is of relatively cheap quality.
Pros:
Free shipping. As far as weight proportions go, it feels relatively smooth in the hand when handling during tricks, other than the stickiness of the over-tightened bite handle portion on mine. Edge on the blade was surprisingly sharp, and maintained it's sharpness into over 2 weeks of relatively often usage. The blue pearl inserts are a nice touch in the handle, and give the grip a decent ergonomic bulge. Lock at the bottom functions properly, does not disengage too easily. Personally did not get too much usage out of the sheathe, however it does come with one, and it does have a belt loop.
A NOTE TO BLADEPLAY:
It would have been impossible for you to warrant my knife for having stripped screws, because you SENT it to me with stripped screws, how convenient for you.
I'm also surprised they got a relatively skilled flipping hobbiest to endorse this knife, he must have accepted a somewhat decent sum of money to feel comfortable risking the quality of his word. I guess in his defense he never positively endorsed the knife, other than recommending it to beginners and saying a few generic things about the handling, which might be acceptable, as long as you don't mind only getting a week or two of practical usage out of it. In all seriousness, I mean no disrespect to either him or Bladeplay, I was just personally disappointed with the overall quality of the construction, I was not however disappointed with the quality of the edge.
