Description

The meeting of science fiction and knife tech in an excellently crafted blade, the Viper OTF looks like a design from the future. The double-edged partially serrated spear point blade is made of AUS-8 high carbon stainless steel with a black finish. The futuristic handle is crafted from black aluminum so it's lightweight and easy to manage. To open the blade, switch off the safety lock and press the sliding release forward. The knife opens fast and smoothly, and the lock up is tight. To close the blade, push the small blade release button forward, the slide the blade back with the bottom actuator until it locks into place. The pommel of this knife features a small glass breaker tip and a removable, tip-down carry pocket clip.

Idk what the guy that posted before me is talking about because this knife is solid, sturdy, rugged, and a killer deal for it's quality. Blade comes razor sharp, lock-up is rigid, the spring is powerful, and the "snap" is so loud it's awesome. I already want another, maybe the serrated tanto one, but the bottom line is unless you're out to break this knife on purpose (kinda sounded like he was lol) it will perform like a champ. This Schrade is badass & can easily compete with $150+ otfs
Get it IF it's all you can get

It's ok. There's little to no bladeplay. The blade is very sharp. The blade fires decently fast. It looks kind of cool. Other than that it feels like a fast food kids meal toy honestly. It feels cheap and not sturdy in the hand. It supposedly has an aluminum handle but it looks and feels like plastic as does everything except the blade. The blade lockup is a load of crap. I don't know if it's just my knife but I've tried pulling the blade back in without pressing the release button, and with a little force it just goes back in.

I've also tried stabbing force tests and a few times the blade just went back into the handle. I understand if you want this knife for carry because you want something that's like an automatic otf but legally you can only carry this, but if you can get automatics then get them instead of this toy.

The people who said Cupid clones are worse than this are wrong. The arrow Cupid clone fires way harder, has a sharper cooler blade, a really solid metal handle and build, and better lockup. The Cupid also has no bladeplay either. I don't mean to bash this schrade viper knife but I feel like it should be more like 20 dollars rather than 40 for the quality. I'll keep it just because it's ok and I'd rather beat this up than an actual good knife.
Best budget OTF I've ever seen

I've been eyeing this knife for a while and finally ordered one. NOT disappointed. This is such a solid knife, especially considering the price. The firing, safety, and lock release mechanisms are all perfect. The blade fires very powerfully — for example with a Lightning or Titan, you can fire it into a sheet of paper and barely puncture the paper, whereas this knife would punch right through cardboard and keep going for an inch or so. Also, the steel being AUS-8, you can tell the second you touch this knife that it has a *much* better blade than other knives in the Schrade OTF category (the ones with the release button on the bottom are crappy 4000-series stainless steel not fit for letter openers). Another thing I liked about this knife is the edge it came with — very sharp. The handle texturing design seems random in places but the knife is very grippy overall and comfortable to hold in the hand in any grip configuration. Also, the glass breaker is awesome — I don't know if it's steel or tungsten but I do know I had no trouble etching glass with it. It etched the glass even better than the one on my CRKT M1614LE which I know is tungsten. I also really love the fact that this knife is technically legal but still looks and operates like a single action front-firing automatic. And this review would not be complete if I didn't mention the fact that after personally handling this knife and handling the Benchmade Infidel, I can tell you that the $400 Infidel has MORE blade play than this $40 Schrade. Folks, for $40 this is a ridiculously solid knife and it gives me new respect for Schrade. If you can't find/afford a real Dalton Cupid (the one the Joker used in The Dark Knight) and you can't bring yourself to get some crappy no-name Cupid clone cause they are suck-a-riffic, then this knife is the answer.
Great OTF

This knife is solid. Nice strong spring also has a solid lockup. No blade play solid lock up. If you can't afford microtech take this knife TRUST ME. The Lightning has play, Cupid clone has play, Titan has play. Even the concord according to review video review. bladeplay and HQ IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ASK THEM THEY WILL ALWAYS RESPOND AND HAS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER service!!
