I didn’t realize how big this Knife was until I opened the box. This is one sturdy folding knife. If you want a knife with walk and talk look no further. But, it has back springs with some serious power. The large Sheep foot opens with a loud snap. The Pen blade is tough to open; it is nail breaker. However, I worked on it with some oil and it got easier; but is still not easy to open. It snaps closed like a Bear trap; I kind of like that. Likely it will get easier once it gets some use. If you don’t have strong fingers you might be better off to get a different knife. Thankfully both blades have great half stops. Coal Miners are known to be a strong bunch and this knife fits its name.
