Strange damascus blade processing, with the layered steel, but the cutting edge reveal is one of the sharpest all-arounders I have. Solid to the feel end to end. I oiled and cleaned it with Blue Lube, then carefully buffed it. This really helped eliminate oil and powder residue from production and made the knife more usable and sanitary. I'm not sure of the stuff -- but I think the residue on it, out of the box, was just from processing the finished steel. Also, I like the solid stag antler handle. This knife balances good in the hand, and it's small enough to be easy to conceal. Came with an "acceptable" leather belt sheath. Good in the kitchen and fishing. Also, though I haven't yet, I think its going to do fine as a skinner. The unique 3 1/2 inch blade is a good one for me to do business with. Actually, I liked this H&R so much that I bought a second one from Grindworx! I have some other knives from Spain, and I'd say they seem to do pretty well over there. Recommended!
