I wouldn't be afraid to use this Hibben collector knife on business or out in the woods. It looks tough. Having just received it, though, you are getting my thoughts from the desk, not the woods. FYI, I do own one other Gil Hibben, plus close to a hundred other knives in my collection.
For starters, the blade is thick and sharp, with its long 7" cutting edge perfectly ground right out of the box, and factory oiled, which is a nice touch. No flaws. The Micarta handles live up to the billing, smooth, stout and handsome. This Hibben is slightly handle-heavy, and it grips well into my hand, which I definitely liked. The no-nonsense polished steel finger guard for user protection would be good to have if circumstances went tactical. Also, the handle end is wide and solid and could pack a wallop. The sheath is of typically good Hibben leather build. Finally, this Hibben looks and holds in the hand like a good large game skinner and camp knife. For the price that Grindworx is selling it right now, make the purchase. I doubt that there are too many remaining. Recommended.
