I own 18 Smith & Wesson knives because I think they are a great value for your money. All that I have are tough and sharp and will stand up to a lot of heavy work. Many of my S&W knives are Extreme Ops. I could not resist buying another... especially an auto. I was not disappointed with the quality and build of this knife. Hefty, sharp and ready for work. However, I would not risk carrying this S&W due to the safety lock, which is far too close to the actuation button and is far too loose. I found that the safety often interferes with the actuation button, making quick action unreliable. I will figure a way to cement this safety into the OFF position to remove the accidental inability to deploy the blade. Also, my initial reaction was that the actuation spring was not adequate. However, after a little oil and some working of the actuation, the spring seemed to launch the blade reliably and with enough force to spring the blade open quickly and reliably. Overall, the utility of this knife blends well with my collection and is a typical Smith & Wesson great value. One less star for the safety lock.
Almost perfect

Really like this knife. Good spring. Opens quick. Only reason not 5 stars safty was cheap and already broken in the box when I took it out. Will not return because I like it that much. Will buy more.
Great knife!

Well made knife for the $. The only complaint I have is the safety switch on the knife is made from plastic. Lighting fast opening and fits well in the pocket. Overall 3 1/2 stars but for the price i'd give it 4! If the switch breaks just buy another.
Decent for the money.

The blade is made from 440A steel. It is more corrosion resistant than steels with a higher carbon content.

That said, these knives are a good "working auto" for the money. While the blades may not hold the edge that knives made from 440C will, it is acceptable for a knife that won't "break the bank".

If you're looking for a knife that will hold a better edge, you may want to look to the Boker Kalalshnikov (AK) series. Their AUS-8 steel blades will take, and hold an edge comparable to well hardened 440B steel.

For a knife that's "easy on the pocketbook" yet still serves you well, you'll be happy with this unit.
Great knife!

Extremely smooth fast open great looking knife! It is pocket size not a large knife. It opens faster and easier than Boker which cost more. Worth the price!

This is my second purchase from Bladeplay.com and they do not disappoint! I bought 2 of these knives, one for myself and one for my son. They are a solid knife with an aluminum handle and a very smooth action. With a press of the button they snap and lock into place with a strong and firm swing of the blade. They also have a locking mechanism to prevent premature opening or closing. Bladeplay.com is my go to knife supplier and I recommend them to anyone looking for a good quality knife.
