Well, ok, 13.125. When you first flip it out and see the 6 in steel blade with satin finish, you will either be wowed or scared to death. It is awesome. It is perfect for everyday tasks--cutting small branches, box cutting, paper cutting, etc. Also for self-defense. It is a spear point and a manual opener, so it is legal just about everywhere, and just opening it should be enough. Yes, it is a bit wide and clunky for EDC, and one reviewer pointed out that you can throw it accurately, but it isn't built for that. I was concerned about stiffness after reading reviews. But you can, using thumb stud and wrist flick, open it as fast and as intimidatingly as a switchblade. But yes, it is a Cold Steel thumb stud, so you have to have tough thumbs. I don't recommend it for a hand model (lol) And yes, it locks really, really tight, so it takes a lot of effort to fold it back. However, I knew that going in and when I pressed the lock release--it worked perfectly! Beginner's luck, as it is a bit rough. If you want an awesome knife, a great utility knife, or a scary knife useful for self-defense, there are other knives better for each of those categories, but overall, this is double plus good.
