This Bold Model sports a satin finished blade with a plain edge and a tan coated handle.

This Bolt OTF knife is the budget version of the Lightning OTF automatic. Unlike the Taiwan-made Lightning, the Bolt is made in China. The quality is not on par with the Lightning, but the Bolt comes in at a commensurately lower price making it one of the most budget-friendly OTF knives around. One improvement over the Lighting is a sturdier 3-screw pocket clip made from black finished stainless steel.

The automatic blade is fired and retracted with a side mounted actuating button. The Bolt does not require a safety mechanism due to the considerable force required to fire the knife. Its blade is made from satin finished stainless steel. The handle is slightly textured and features a durable coating.

Disclaimer: The blade on the Bolt will come "off track" more often than higher priced OTF's – carefully pull the blade out to reset blade. Adding oil to the knife will help prevent this issue. Minor paint chips and cosmetic issues may also be present from shipping.

I have had this knife for a couple of months and it is a great knife. I sometimes carry this knife because it is legal in my State to Carry. I would recommend this knife to anyone. It is a great EDC knife. I have used this knife to help replace flooring in my house.

The blade quality was surprisingly good but the inner components were severely lacking. When it shipped to me it was already missing an external screw -- luckily, I have a drawer full of extra screws in my toolbox and found one that fit and sealed it in with locktite. However, after about 6 months of EDC use, the deployment mechanism has broken and a piece of the innder frame actually fell out of the knife (it was made from thin plastic). The knife will now deploy with gravity and -to its credit- will also lock until I slide the action back and then use gravity again to close it. However, the blade rattles so much now that despite this comical usage of the knife, it is completely unusable. If you want my advice, just buy a Taiwan Lightning and don't waste your time with the knockoffs.

I bought this and one of the bolt camo serrated version as well. This one makes a loud ringing sound from the springs when deployed. The other works fine, gets stuck occasionally though. Only had em for about 7 hours now. But they're cool so... Thinking bout buying a lightening for better durability and reliability.
