This F-16 model is outfitted with a white handle and a satin finished bayonet blade.
The AKC F-16 is a snappy, double-action OTF automatic knife inspired by the impressive F-16 jet of the same name. It has a side loaded thumb-slide that opens and closes the blade with smooth precision. The handle is made from aluminum with a stainless steel pocket clip for tip-down carry.
Customer Reviews
Neither of mine have had ANY issues with misfiring (or anything else, for that matter), and they both have a consistent, powerful action, that, again, works every single time. The blades came sharp, and while I haven't put them through extreme use, I have used them both to cut a few things, and they both still have a really sharp edge, with no signs of wear at all.
I obviously can't imagine doing without a Benchmade or Microtech, or even a slightly less expensive Gerber Covert (or anything that's at least in that price/quality range)-- but I do love collecting all kinds of more affordable models, and this one has been a very pleasant surprise. Comparing this knife to something like those listed above isn't a fair comparison, since it's anywhere from $100-$400 less than those others... That being said, the F-16 is EASILY the closest thing I've found to that type of quality and performance, in the lower-priced range of OTFs. I love my Lightnings, and I have a couple of Titans that have been amazing, and a Rumble that's been really impressive too, among several other "cheaper" models. These AKC F-16s have outperformed them all, hands down... I even have a couple of the more expensive AKC Concords (the exact same brand as these F-16s), and they can't touch the F-16s either. These things are just really well-made (and I feel like that's a pretty consistent thing, since I've now bought two of them, at totally different times, and they both work flawlessly, with the same exact feel and same exact, smooth, yet snappy action).
If you haven't ever owned or used one of these, and you're looking for an affordable, competent alternative, rather than another variation of whatever you already own-- you're in the right spot. These things are impressive.
TL;DR -- Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor, and check one of these F-16s out. You won't regret it...
Also, I forgot to mention the fact that, out of all of my "budget" OTFs, both of my F-16s have less blade play than any of my other similarly priced OTFs (with my Rumble OTF being the only other one that's really even close, as far as blade stability goes on these knives-- as unlikely as that might seem... no disrespect to Rumble, but I just hadn't even heard of them until I actually bought that knife, so I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised). Both of my F-16s are incredibly sturdy and stable though... I really can't say enough good things about these knives.
