This Schrade SC60BT is an automatic conversion knife. A push of the firing button deploys the blade; no nudge needed. Push that same button again to release the blade and manually close it. This knife has a tanto style steel blade with a plain cutting edge. The handle is black finished aluminum with scalloped finger grooves for optimal grip. Includes pocket clip and glass breaker tip.

These knives sometimes have light marks on the blade or handle from the conversion process.

Solid knife, iffy button

First impression of this knife: it will get the job done. The spring snaps it open quickly and it locks in place solidly. The grip is fantastic, the steel of the blade is top notch, and the price is hard to argue with. As always, it is disappointing when an American knife company goes over seas, and this one is made in Taiwan. My biggest complaint of this knife is the button; the action is a little crunchy. Unless you press the button very firmly, it will begin to eject and then pause. The tip of the blade will emerge from the handle but then hangs up for a second until you press very firmly, and even then it's not a very smooth action. It is a major detractor for an otherwise fantastic knife, but I suppose for the price point it can be expected.

The locking mechanism of the knife also feels a little cheap - it is simply a piece of plastic that slides to disable the auto-button. The direction of the lock is counter intuitive given that when you slide the knife into your pocket to clip it in it UNlocks the switch. That is simply poor design.
