Description

An impressive 13" when opened, this stiletto from SKM will certainly get attention. The handle is a rich looking dark horn. The blade is stainless steel, bayonet flat grind with "Made in Italy" stamped on the tang. Despite the bigger size, the knife fires hard and locks quickly, and there is a sliding safety to prevent accidental opening. The nickel silver bolsters and buttons, and brass pins and liners are nice traditional touches. Give your collection a boost with the addition of this giant.

ANOTHER IMPRESSIVE SKM

I initially had to return this for exchange due to a mechanical issue. I dealt with the very pleasant Chelsea, who made the return process easier than I could have imagined. It took only a single week to return the defective knife and receive the replacement. The replacement is perfect. I have two Frank B. knives, and I honestly cannot discern any difference in quality between the SKM's and the Frank B.'s, (even considering the returned knife). So, in the unlikely event that you need to make a return, customer service will have your back.

Due to the weight of the blade. (It's a huge blade) and an average spring, the knife may not open all the way when the button is pushed, but upon a few coats of WD-40 and repeated openings will insure it opens regularly. This was not a huge let down though, as almost every switchblade I've owned has done this. Overall, a great buy - Especially for the money.

These knives are made by quality craftsmen from the village of Maniago, Italy which is the knife capital in Italy. Generations of families produce and hand finish every last one of these beauties, the old-school way-the 'right way'. The size is magnificent and operates like a much smaller knife as far as quickness and lockup. Don't be fooled by cheap Asian copies. The reason these knives 'fire' and lock straight is because the spring and back bone are one piece. Not the two piece sex-pin spring with the rounded shape edge. The edge on the blade is razor fine and will keep for many years if treated with affection. I have had mine for well over 20 years. Remember this(Maniago,Italy) is where all the Beltram Family, as well as many of the other well known knife makers are. The Best in the World!
