This Bold Model sports a black finished blade with a partially serrated edge and a zombie green handle with a biohazard graphic.

This Bolt OTF knife is the budget version of the Lightning OTF automatic. Unlike the Taiwan-made Lightning, the Bolt is made in China. The quality is not on par with the Lightning, but the Bolt comes in at a commensurately lower price making it one of the most budget-friendly OTF knives around. One improvement over the Lighting is a sturdier 3-screw pocket clip made from black finished stainless steel.

The automatic blade is fired and retracted with a side mounted actuating button. The Bolt does not require a safety mechanism due to the considerable force required to fire the knife. Its blade is made from black finished stainless steel. The handle is slightly textured and features a durable coating.

Disclaimer: The blade on the Bolt will come "off track" more often than higher priced OTF's – carefully pull the blade out to reset blade. Adding oil to the knife will help prevent this issue. Minor paint chips and cosmetic issues may also be present from shipping.

Just gave this as a present, and a couple of hours later it has stopped working. The problem is, the knife will not deploy and lock. The blade has to be pulled out and locked in, or put back on the tracks. Knife goes in great, just doesn’t deploy great. It has a nice sharp edge out the box. Overall appearance is good. Shipping was good.

I had to turn the bottom gate around and grind off some on the non mechanical side of the handle to allow for the gate to swing free. But it works great after that.

You can't beat this deal. With a little work, this is a great buy. Out of the box the knife is rough, fails to deploy very often and is very hard to fire. I removed one of the springs on the knife, cleaned and oiled it a bit and put it back together. After about ten or 12 firings, the knife 'seated itself in' and now deploys with no failures at all. I've fired mine close to 100 times with absolutely no failures. The blade deploys fast and locks solidly and retracts equally fast and locks closed perfectly.

Weighing .06 oz less than my Lightning, the knife does feel lighter and deployment is easier (takes less force) than firing my Lightning. With a little work, this is a quality knife at a remarkable price. If you can handle tools and are a little careful, it is well worth the effort. You will have a first rate OTF as a result. I also like the Lime Green color :-).

Just like a Lightning model. Mine never comes off track, not once! I sanded mine down to bare aluminum for a really cool unusual look!
