The Monarch butterfly knife has a slim design and superb action for a budget balisong. Black finished 440 stainless steel clip point blade with decorative blood grooves and two highly functional tang pins that improve lock-up and reduce blade wear. The handles are black coated steel with parallelogram cutouts that look great and offer improved grip. The knife is constructed with Torx screws for easy adjustment of the knife.
Please Note: As with all butterfly knives, please be sure to maintain and tighten the screws, especially the pivot screws. We recommend using a threadlocker (Click HERE!) for best results. Adjust with care, we do not warrant stripped screws!
Customer Reviews
The Andux TRAINER came in a fancy box with a holster and a torx wrench as well as having 4 brass washers on the pivot pins, 1 on both sides of the blade.
THIS monarch clip point butterfly came in a bubble wrap baggie within a standard black box. Nothing else but itself. It also is supposed to have 4 plastic washers located same as the brass ones on the trainer. Mine came with only 2, both on opposite pivots, opposite sides of the blade.
My old monarch lost the washers long ago and the handles pinch the blade speed to stop. Unfortunately, I'll be forced to purchase more washers however, it's not a bad idea to have spare or use a different kind.
This knife itself is a favorite of mine. They go forever with some super glue and light metalworking skills. They are easy to sharpen. They are a good medium range in weight and they are balanced.
The handles are very easy to grip. The blades are very sharp. Be careful with the sharpened tip though because it will break right off on concrete or stone. Then you'll have a screwdriver! XD
