The blade on this knife is nice quality black stainless steel (plain blade). This is a spring assisted knife, meaning when you push on the thumb stud to open it a spring takes over and propels the blade open (you can also activate the knife by pressing a flipper on the spine when the blade is closed). Spring assisted knives are legal in most areas. The body of the Xcaliber is made out of black steel and features a rosewood insert on both the front and back of the knife. A pocket clip ensures easy carry and access. The overall fit of the knife body is quite good as are the the action and lock-up.
