This Schrade SC60B is an automatic conversion knife. A push of the firing button deploys the blade; no nudge needed. Push that same button again to release the blade and manually close it. This knife has a spear point style steel blade with a plain cutting edge. The handle is black finished aluminum with scalloped finger grooves for optimal grip. Includes pocket clip and glass breaker tip.

These knives sometimes have light marks on the blade or handle from the conversion process.

I have had my SC60B since 1994. On the farm it cuts so many items that I could not do without the automatic opening. Try cutting open an 80# bag of something with one hand on the bag. When fishing, you have to retie your line every so often. In the middle of tying the knot, having an automatic knife really makes a difference. This knife is so handy and easy to keep sharp I could not due without it! The only problem in all the years is one screw that tries to back out on occaision. Thanks Schrade for a GREAT KNIFE!

As far as automatics go, I have tried all sorts of things. Cheap, expensive, even Benchmade... If you want something for EDC that's great quality, razor sharp otb, but that won't cost you too much -- this is it. The locking mechanism is great, the deployment is great (and can be lubricated if stiff), the blade doesn't move at all when locked. It passes every single usage test I can throw at it with flying colors. This is more than I can say for pretty much every other knife review I have ever left.
