Linder really went all out when they created the stag-handled Heavy Hunter fixed-blade knife! With 440C stainless steel blade, full tang, thick, smoothed staghorn, and a solid, nickel-silver guard, this knife even looks like it means business!
The steel blade has a high satin finish and flat grind. The staghorn handle has two brass pins and a brass lanyard hole. The smooth curve of the handle fits the contours of your hand, even to the heel-drop butt and rear quillon. The 3/16" front quillon is reinforced by 3/16" nickel-silver bolsters on each side, with enough room along the top to lay your thumb along for excellent leverage, and the handle gently thins at the front to perfectly fit your thumb on the side when you really need a power grip. Linder frequently uses a nickel-silver alloy, giving a soft, classy look to bolsters, much gentler to the eye than brass, and the nickel keeps the tarnish at bay.
The Heavy Hunter comes complete with a leather sheath, made all of one piece. It sits quite securely in the sheath; the very size and shape makes it work rather like modern Kydex sheaths.
These are vintage German knives, and many come in the original box, with all the original paperwork and even the embossed quality-check tag, which is excellent news for all you collectors out there!
