Thick and Heavy
Brian N.
I ordered this about a month ago and have had a little time to examine it and it has become the one that sits next to my laptop and not on the wall with the others. The metal is unpolished, which means that it doesnt have a mirror finish BUT there is a small fingernail sized portion by the stamp which IS mirror polished, showing that if you wanted to, you could easily polish this blade to mirror if you wanted to. The issue I have with my mirror finishes is I cant take them down without polishing them for 20 min after I've touched them, this one I don't have to worry about so much so I'm not afraid to handle it. The blade is thick and the spine by the lock doesn't have the twist, meaning it was either forged with the lock or it was stamped out of a THICK piece of metal. There's no sex pin so its all one piece, and they made it extra heavy duty since the spring cant be replaced without replacing the whole spine. This makes for a heavy knife since the blade size matches the spine, and probably why they added the filework which is a nice touch. More utility than a showpiece, but for once I'm not afraid to pass it around and worry about fingerprints or how much the spring is getting worked. Heavy Duty and worth every penny.
