The Grivory Paradox knife has twin handles with integral springs that are similar to a conventional slip joint folder. The great thing about this design is that once it's opened it will never close inadvertently. The handles features steel frames with Grivory scales. The hollow ground blade on the Paradox is imported Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel for great performance. This is a superb knife that can be carried legally in most places.
Cold Steel's Paradox is designed to mimic a traditional Balisong or Butterfly knife in every respect but one – it can’t be opened with one hand! So the Paradox is not a switchblade, gravity knife, or assisted opener and can’t be opened without the use of both hands. While it looks like a classic Butterfly knife from the early 80’s, and feels like one in your hand, it isn’t. It’s a legal Balisong!
