Night Owl Dagger D/A OTF Automatic Knife - Black Plain

Just got the night owl today in the mail. It was shipped by USPS and got here faster than expected, like 4 days!
It was packed in a small sleeve inside a box inside a knife holster. This knife has some weight to it. After vigorous examination here is my review:
Nice n Heavy
Not sharp out the box
Not oiled
Retracts great after oiled
(Don't panic if the blade becomes loose, just pull the blade up as best as you can and retract)
Feels better with out belt clip attached. I took mine off
There is a lot of play in the ejected position.
Fun to play with!
So that just about sums it up.

For a low priced OTF this one is pretty nice. It has some weight to it but the spring action is smooth and quick. You need to use a good amount of pressure to operate the switch but I had no problems with it, only a few of my friends didn't have the strength to operate it. Great knife if you are looking to buy your first OTF knife.

This knife is totally awesome. The firing action is really strong, in fact, it even broke the skin on my finger! I sharpened the blade a little more because it was slightly dull. This knife has a good weight and it always works. In fact, I bet this knife can compete with the Microtech Combat Troodon. This deal is worth it, order his knife and you will not be disappointed by it!

It is true that the Night Owl is a budget friendly OTF knife. It came with a basic carrying case. If you use the case, I would take off the pocket clip. Do not expect the quality of other OTFs that Grindworxs carries. Compared to the Lighting: it is 40% less expensive, 100 x heavier, and 50% as reliable. The spring feels much weaker and there is a lot more blade play. While it has not failed to deploy and lock up, it has failed to fully retract several times. The two-tone is not even and fit is mediocre. With that being said, it is a sub 20.00 DA-OTF. Don’t expect it to be perfect and it is a great deal.

I enjoy this knife as it is satisfying to snap out (once I broke it in and got easier to push the button back and forth) yet the mechanism sometimes fails, as the knife just slides out with no force when stored upside down in my pocket, I must grab the blade, pull it all the way out until it snaps in place, then retract it with the button (yet sometimes it won't snap down in place and I have to do it several times)

for my first OTF knife im very satisfied. the action if pretty smooth and hell of allot of fun to play with, but it was dull af out of the box, other than that great knife!

1st OTF automatic I’ve bought from Grindworx, the action and retraction is as good if not better than a knife that’s twice as much. 5 Stars. Just get one & you won’t be disappointed.

I just got this knife not long ago and I definitely like it a lot! I for sure always carry this one. It has a good weight and a good sturdy release to avoid it opening in your pocket. A beautiful blade as well.
